United Nations General Assembly
Agenda: Addressing the global refugee crisis, focusing on improving international cooperation for resettlement programs, enhancing border policies, and ensuring equitable access to resources for displaced populations.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) committee will convene senior delegates from Grades 9 to 12 in a high-level simulation of one of the UN’s most influential and representative organs. In this session, held in a double delegate format, students will have the option to collaborate in pairs, encouraging teamwork and shared responsibility in tackling complex global issues. With the refugee crisis reaching alarming levels (over 114 million displaced persons worldwide in 2024), the committee will address the urgent need for enhanced international cooperation on refugee resettlement, border management policies, and equitable access to essential resources such as housing, healthcare, and education. Delegates will engage with real-world developments, including the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine, Sudan, and Gaza, which have contributed to the growing humanitarian strain. Participants will craft policy proposals that balance national interests with global responsibility, honing their skills in negotiation and international law while addressing one of the world’s most critical challenges.
