Economic and Social Council
Agenda: Addressing the economic challenges of digital inequality in developing countries, focusing on policies to expand access to affordable technology, enhance digital literacy, and foster innovation for sustainable development.

The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will engage senior delegates from Grades 9 to 12 in a policy-driven dialogue on closing the digital divide in developing nations. As the global economy becomes increasingly digital, billions remain disconnected, locked out of education, healthcare, and employment opportunities due to inadequate infrastructure, low digital literacy, and unaffordable technology. This committee will focus on actionable policies that promote equitable access to digital tools, foster innovation ecosystems, and empower marginalized communities through inclusive digital development. With real-world stakes tied to economic resilience, social mobility, and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, delegates will be expected to craft pragmatic, future-ready solutions that bridge inequality.
